What are R&D Tax Credits?
The R&D tax relief scheme exists to encourage investment in research, development and innovation by UK companies. The benefits are huge with companies claiming back between 8.4p and 30p per pound spent on development. These R&D tax credits can be used to reduce corporation tax payments and even loss making businesses can benefit.
The political will behind the R&D tax credit scheme is strong. Industry and politicians agree that increased investment in technology and innovation is key to the future success of the UK economy. The scheme encourages this investment by allowing costs on relevant development projects to be claimed back as corporation tax relief. The result is more cash available within your business to fuel further investment in innovation.

Our Leicestershire based client is very successful at designing new products for large companies, but it was because all the work they do is for other people that they previously thought they were ineligible for the scheme. We met with the company, reviewed their work and then successfully submitted their claims, securing £160,000 in the process.
“We’ve just worked with G2 on a couple of R&D tax credit claims and they’ve provided an excellent service. From explaining our options at the start right through to submission of the claim, we’ve been given clear and straightforward advice at every step. We’ll be using them again and I’d recommend them to anyone else out there considering these tax credits.”
